The Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield hosted a recent Branch meeting which opened with a very interesting presentation from Ruth Richardson from Shaw and Lisle Catering Ltd, one of the sandwich manufacturers on the national contract.
Ruth invited the Branch to tour the factory at a later date and also left sufficient samples for the buffet at the end of the meeting, which were eagerly devoured by the 15 Members in attendance. Our thanks to Ruth and to Shaw and Lisle for their support.
Recruitment to the Branch continues, and we were pleased to welcome four new Full and Associate Members to the meeting.
Also discussed was the Branch Study Day which will be held in Sheffield (near to Meadowhall) on Thursday 13 November. Look out for more details in the forthcoming Journals.
Conference
Enjoying the HCA Branch Party Night at Conference
Eleven Trent Members attended the HCA National Conference in April, as well as many more of our Associate and Patron Members who were there with their companies. We were one of the Branches awarded a sponsored place at Conference this year, and we wish to thank the Association for this very generous offer.
All agreed that Conference was a great success with some really excellent speakers and anyone who didn’t participate in the Drum Café session certainly missed a fantastic experience.
The older Members were very moved by the video ‘A Diamond Life - The First 60 Years’, as it brought back so many memories. It also made the younger Members aware of the traditions of the service that the HCA has been built on.
Many thanks to the Conference Committee and everyone else involved.
