Twenty-two Full Members of the West Midlands Branch attended the HCA Conference this year and several more Members and colleagues from units across the region came to the Birmingham Metropole Hotel to visit the Exhibition.
Life Members Ron Anderson and John Reid had been invited as guests by the Conference Committee in their capacity as Ex Vice President and Ex National Chairman respectively. The Branch also invited Life Members Shirley Payne and Robin Baker to attend the President’s Dinner as guests to celebrate the 60th Diamond Anniversary of the Association.
Everyone enjoyed the event and our thanks to Conference Secretary Carolyn Robinson and to Lansdowne Publishing for all their support.
In May we held our meeting at Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley, where David Jones from PKL gave us an interesting insight into his company and how it can support NHS caterers. Our June meeting was held at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, followed by a session of Archery.
Our next meeting after the summer break will be held on Tuesday 16 September at the Hobart offices in Birmingham.
