The Northern Branch was really spoilt for choice when deciding which area of the North East to complete their sponsored walk to raise money for this year’s Forum Charities – The UK Sepsis Trust and The Alex Lewis Trust.
Our first attempt to complete our walk was unfortunately cancelled at the last minute due to poor weather, so conquering the mountain (officially a hill) known as Roseberry Topping, situated near Great Ayton, North Yorkshire, had to wait until another day.
Our second attempt was more successful and we completed our walk on Sunday 25 March on the gorgeous expanses of sand known as High Newton-by-the-Sea and Beadnell beaches, Northumberland.
The team of 12 people and three dogs completed the walk in the magnificent Northumberland sunshine. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and everybody really enjoyed the chance to walk and talk in such beautiful surroundings. The day ended with a late lunch at the Dunstanburgh Castle Golf Club, which was kindly provided by BGL Rieber.
The Branch would like to thank everybody who attended the walk, along with everyone who sponsored the event, helping to raise £500 towards the Forum charities.
