NACC National Training & Development Forum 2011

NACC National Training & Development Forum 2011 - a must attend event for care caterers

The NACC (National Association of Care Catering) Training & Development Forum 2011 returns to the Hilton Hotel, Blackpool on 14-16 September 2011.

The forum (previously called conference and exhibition) has firmly established itself as the essential training and development event for caterers in the care sector. It will help delegates to improve the catering provision they have responsibility for, learn from their peers through networking, discover the latest thinking in food, drink, technology and equipment, and deepen their knowledge through presentations by high-profile speakers.

The two-day training event is a must attend for everyone involved in the care catering industry wanting to ensure that they, and their care establishments, stay abreast of Government guidelines and ahead of the competition. Its relevance extends to catering managers, dieticians, local authority staff, NHS staff, social services officers, owners or managers of day care centres or residential homes, healthcare company executives, domiciliary care providers, members of caring organisations, and any supplier to the care catering sector.

The comprehensive programme includes relevant and stimulating presentations and workshops led by high-profile speakers such as Mo Baines, Principal Advisor, APSE, Geoff Booth, Vice Principal, Westminster Kingsway College, Ruth Bell MSc, FIFST and Alan Hatton-Yeo, CEO, Beth Johnson Foundation. Delegates can expect debate and guidance on the burning issues relating to catering within the care sector, including:

  • How does public policy affect care catering?
  • How to ensure you meet CQC’s Outcome 5 - Meeting Nutritional Needs
  • How to prevent a Food Safety Incident
  • A strategy for good nutritional care for adults in all care settings
  • Funding - Is there any funding left?
  • Connecting to your community through food
  • Difficulties with communication and swallowing - what can you do?

CaterCare 2011
The NACC Training & Development Forum 2011 is complemented by CaterCare 2011 - the biggest care catering exhibition in the UK, bringing together operators and suppliers in a dedicated educational environment.

CaterCare 2011 provides the perfect setting for suppliers to the care catering industry to showcase their company, products and services to decision makers and purchasers, and for operators to discover the very latest developments in food, drink, technology and equipment.

NACC Awards 2011
The two-day event will also play host to the prestigious NACC Awards 2011 gala dinner on Thursday 15 September 2011 - the annual celebration of excellence within the care catering industry. The NACC Awards categories include Catering Team or Individual of the Year, Care Establishment of the Year, Community Meals Award, Innovation or Achievement Award and Regional Award.

Derek Johnson, Chair, NACC, comments: “Our National Training & Development Forum is a vital part of the care catering industry calendar. Through a winning combination of relevant, educational and challenging presentations, workshops, networking sessions and exhibitions we can provide delegates with the information and tools they need to manage and embrace the changes and developments in our ever-growing and ever-evolving industry. This year’s programme is really exciting and thought-provoking and we’re thrilled to be welcoming some very prestigious speakers - it’s set to be another truly fantastic forum!”
