Daventry Company celebrates 45 years in business

In today’s financial climate, it is rare to find a local company, employing local people with a history that spans almost half a century. Die-Pat Divisions Ltd is proud to be celebrating its 45th Anniversary this month.

Founded in 1966 by Katheleen Gleghorn and Ben Lee, Die-Pat started out as a family company with family values, manufacturing steel dies and wooden patterns. In 1986, ownership transferred to the siblings of the original founder members and to this day, Stuart and Christine (children of Katheleen Gleghorn) still remain involved in the business. The company has evolved from manufacturing to distribution and Die-Pat is now the leading distributor of industrial catering hardware in the UK. In 2007, Die-Pat appointed a Managing Director, Simon Welch, to develop the business into a more corporate thinking operation to secure its success for the next 50 years whilst retaining its core family values, personal approach and appeal.

The key to Die-Pat’s success is not only its experienced and loyal staff (Over 250 years experience between 30 staff members, four of which have been with the company for over 25 years) but the support of local businesses and service providers that have been with Die-Pat from the start and still remain partners today. This is not only true of suppliers, many of Die-Pats customers have also remained with them since the 1960s.

Alan Bindley, Corporate Account Director, Barclays Corporate, Northamptonshire said:
“Congratulations to all at Die Pat for reaching this milestone anniversary. As a long standing customer of the bank we wish you even greater success in the years to come”.

Die-Pat’s Managing Director, Simon Welch, commenting on the celebrations said:
“Die-Pat is very proud to be celebrating such a long and successful time in business. In this day and age, we often hear about large global corporations and their longevity, but for a small company who has remained faithful to its roots, its no mean feat to still be trading after 45 years.”

Die-Pat will be celebrating this milestone for the year to come and customers will benefit from some special anniversary offers. But once the cake has been eaten and the champagne is gone, Die-Pat will be looking forward to continuing their success into the next 45 years.
